Wherever local conditions allow, Sofar runs on our standard model of tickets sold in advance through the Sofar website, and local leaders are compensated through a profit-share system. In some countries, local tax rules, payment systems, or market conditions don't support advance ticketing through Sofar. In those cities, local leaders operate under a community model, in which guests are invited to attend on a pay-what-you-want basis, and local leaders put these funds towards paying artists and running costs.
