How are artists paid?
Artist compensation depends on the country and event model.
Shows ticketed and sold through the Sofar website: artists receive a guaranteed honorarium. The minimum rate varies by country, applies to the full act regardless of the number of performers, and increases at certain thresholds shared with all booked artists.
Shows not ticketed in advance: these run on a "pass the hat" model, and artist payments are handled directly by the local team.
