Sofar exists to support artists by creating intimate, unique performance opportunities in unexpected spaces – all while connecting them with engaged new audiences.
Artist compensation varies depending on the city and event model.
For events where tickets are sold in advance through the Sofar website, artists are paid a guaranteed honorarium, with increased rates available depending on the event and location. This amount applies to the full act, regardless of the number of performers.
In cities where events are not ticketed in advance, shows operate under a “pass the hat” model. Artist payments are handled independently by the local team.
