Yes! In the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, most of our shows are organized by a full-time team, with Sofar crew running the events. Crew are part-time, paid event staff whose responsibilities include setting up, emceeing, and supporting the artists, the host, and the audience at every show. We also hire audio engineers for our bigger spaces.
In cities where shows are organized independently by Sofar Curators, many shows are staffed by volunteers looking for a way to connect with the local scene.
Many Sofar crew are also musicians in their own right. They might be setting up behind the scenes one night, then performing their own music on stage another. Sofar shows give our performing crew members the opportunity to support their music careers and network with other artists in their city and meet music industry folks.
