For a faster login to your Sofar account, you can Sign Up or Continue with Apple or Google.
Whether you’re signing up for a Sofar account for the first time, or want to use Google or Apple to sign into your existing Sofar account, this article explains what to expect.
Sign Up or Continue with Apple
If you already have a Sofar account, please make sure your Sofar Sounds user account email address is the same as your Apple ID email address:
- You can check your Apple ID email address on your Apple device, by going to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign in & Security
- You can check and update the email address on your existing Sofar account by going to My Account > Edit Profile.
Apple Email Sharing Preferences
The first time you log in or sign up with Apple, you'll see two options:

Hide My Email (automatically selected): This will create a new account with a unique, anonymized email like adjkivke87@privaterelay.appleid.com, which will only work on our site, but we won’t be able to see your real email. You'll still receive emails from Sofar to the email associated with your Apple ID.
- If you already have a Sofar account, please note, you won't be able to link this new Apple login to that existing account, and we will not be able to migrate your event history to the new account.
- Share My Email: Choose this option if you want to link Continue with Apple to an existing Sofar user account with the same email. If you don’t already have a Sofar user account with the same email, we'll use the email associated with your Apple ID to create one.
To stop using Continue with Apple with Sofar, or to change your Share My Email / Hide My Email preference, go to the Apple ID section of your device settings, then Password & Security.
Tip: Continue with Apple allows you to use Face ID or Touch ID to log in to Sofar!
Sign Up or Continue with Google
If you have an existing Sofar user account, please make sure your Sofar user account email address is the same as your Google account email address.
You can check and update the email address on your existing Sofar account by going to My Account > Edit Profile.
- When you choose Continue with Google to login, you'll be asked for your Google account password in a pop-up window, not your Sofar password.
- If you have 2-Step Verification enabled for your Google account, you'll need to authenticate with a second device.
